Amazing moment

After my last post I was left feeling kind of sad about the patients I can't help, but I was renewed in the idea that I can still help some. I got to witness a patient be hooked up with a cochlear implant for the first time yesterday. It was amazing. He hadn't heard sound in 9 months. He was so overwhelmed with emotion when we started putting beeping noises into his ear...he began to cry. It was a cool moment. Being in the medical field is challenging but can be so rewarding. I know it sounds corny, but it's true. Wish you could have been there to witness it.
